As an Archives and Research Assistant I help with the Public Services and the Collections Management operations. Under Public Services, I research and answer reference questions as well as orient and assist researchers in the Reading Room. For Collections Management, I help process, preserve, and describe archival materials in analog and digital formats.
I help Tufts offices and departments effectively manage University records by providing guidance about records retention, secure and efficient storage, and confidential destruction. I also help staff identify inactive records with long-term value to Tufts that should be transferred to the Archives. Please contact me with questions about managing University records or to schedule a consultation.
I manage our Public Services operations, including remote reference services and Reading Room operations, and continue to build an expanded outreach program to students and faculty. Please contact me for information about class visits, teaching with archival materials, and primary source research.
I manage transfers and donations of new material to the archives, from departments, student groups on campus, and other donors. If you would like to donate or transfer records to DCA, please contact me.
I work with our digitization initiatives and projects. This includes project management and development and implementation of policies, procedures, and workflows. I am also on the Tufts Digital Repository working group, assisting in the operation and maintenance of the TDR.
I manage our digital archives, seeing digital objects through their lifecycle at DCA, from acquisition to preservation to access. Additionally, web archiving and care for legacy media, including audio-visual materials fall into my responsibilities.
I oversee collection management and archival processing. This includes managing preservation, assessing collections, and planning and prioritizing processing work.
